Lisa's yoga teaching journey began in Washington, DC in 2001--and it's been a wild, exciting and joyous ride ever since. After almost 5 years of teaching vinyasa classes at DC's Tranquil Space Yoga Lisa and her husband Nick moved to Colorado to embark on a new Rocky Mountain lifestyle together. Lisa believes that yoga is the greatest metaphor for life--challenging us to be engaged yet relaxed on our journey. The more she teaches and studies the practice of yoga, the more she realizes how much there is to learn. Lisa's classes are challenging, invigorating and empowering. Her teaching encourages students to tap into their inner courage, have faith and to test their boundaries. In her teaching, Lisa is known for her free-spirited sense of humor, compassion and humility. Her classes include all types of music from reggae to traditional Indian sitar to classic rock--all to encourage your yoga groove.
Over her teaching career, Lisa has studied with and been inspired by teachers including Ana Forrest, Shiva Rea, Doug Swenson and Kimberly Wilson. Lisa feels that regardless of how long you’ve practiced, whom you’ve practiced with or where, there is no greater teacher than that voice inside yourself. She hopes to help her students awaken their inner teacher. After years of practicing almost every style of yoga, Lisa was drawn to Vinyasa because of its beautiful and invigorating dance like qualities.
Before leaving DC for Denver Lisa was featured in the Washingtonian’s 2005 “Best of Edition” as a yoga and fitness expert. Lisa was a staple in the DC yoga community and is happy to expand that community to Colorado. Along with the Washingtonian, she has been interviewed by Shape Magazine, the Washington Post and has done workshops and yoga demos for the Discovery Channel, Kimpton Hotel Group, the New York and DC Tourism boards and many others.
While not teaching studio classes Lisa is busy leading trainings, workshops and retreats across the globe from Tulum, Mexico to Tobago/Trinidad from Yogaville, VA to Colorado.
